Responsibilities
- Use domain modeling and scalable architectural patterns to build understandable, testable, evolvable backend products.
- Develop secure, reliable, operable systems that avoid single points of failure and support zero-downtime releases.
- Investigate and resolve issues, improve performance, and ensure problems do not recur.
- Optimize how data is written and read for system needs.
- Continuously update technologies and engineering patterns to support durable solutions.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams.
- Establish validation standards for AI-assisted outputs, including secure coding, peer review, automated testing, performance, and security checks.
- Promote reusable engineering patterns and automation across the SDLC and TLM toolchain.
- Coach senior engineers and leads on responsible, secure, and compliant use of AI-assisted development tools.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in problem-solving concepts with proficient applied experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, security, and compliant usage controls.
- Ability to identify problems, propose solutions, prioritize effectively, and contribute beyond one's specialty.
- Desire and ability to teach others, share knowledge, and work collaboratively rather than as an individual hero developer.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, complexity, new technologies, and changing engineering patterns.
- Long-term technical judgment and ability to select technologies and approaches based on intended outcomes.
- High standards, ethical judgment, initiative, pragmatism, and a focus on company-wide outcomes.
