Base Salary
$180k - $238k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, resilient Site Controller architecture coordinating thousands of distributed microcontrollers.
- Develop multi-rate control systems for site coordination, grid execution, state-of-charge optimization, battery longevity, and sub-cycle grid synchronization.
- Architect fault-management frameworks, autonomous error recovery, and failsafe state machines.
- Define deterministic physical and real-time networking layers, communication interfaces, and network protocols.
- Design hardware-abstraction and communication layers connecting the Site Controller, Pack Manager, and heterogeneous downstream microcontrollers.
- Build modular, testable software with automated unit and integration testing.
- Improve distributed logging and telemetry flows for real-time system health and performance monitoring.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 2 years of professional experience developing application-layer software for hardware-constrained systems.
- Proficiency in Rust and Python.
- Deep familiarity with Modbus TCP and CAN; DNP3 or IEC 61850 experience is a significant plus.
- Strong experience with Linux system administration and containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience implementing and managing high-availability Firmware Over-the-Air pipelines.
- Experience with time-series databases and data visualization tools.
- Experience integrating vendor-off-the-shelf components such as PV systems, industrial inverters, fire safety systems, and HVAC controllers.
