Responsibilities
- Build Apple’s AI Data and ML platforms.
- Develop custom AI and platform solutions from the ground up or customize open-source products for Apple’s needs.
- Build innovative tools and frameworks that extend across AiDP platforms.
- Architect AI systems on cloud platforms.
- Ship production-grade AI-driven solutions to internal or external customers.
- Develop systems around pretrained models using prompt engineering, fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, and agent orchestration.
- Implement secure agentic workflows using MCP, tool-calling, and OAuth-based authentication.
- Manage or work hands-on with distributed systems and independently troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Conduct customer discovery and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of overall software or platform development experience.
- Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python and ideally one or more additional languages such as TypeScript, Java, or Golang.
- Experience architecting AI systems on cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of LLM serving and inference frameworks.
- At least 1 year of experience shipping production-grade AI-driven solutions to external or internal customers.
- Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
- Experience with applied AI systems involving pretrained models, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, and agent orchestration.
- Ability to implement secure agentic workflows incorporating MCP, tool-calling, and OAuth-based authentication.
- Foundation and application experience in data structures and algorithms.
- Understanding of and hands-on experience managing at least one distributed system, such as Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills for customer discovery and explaining technical concepts to varied stakeholders.
