Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own core components of the AI agent platform, including orchestration and internal-system tool integrations.
- Build APIs, data access patterns, and service integrations that enable agents to execute operational workflows.
- Architect knowledge and memory infrastructure so agents can retrieve data and act across systems.
- Design and implement trust and safety features such as audit trails, human-in-the-loop controls, and guardrails.
- Develop agent evaluation and testing infrastructure to measure accuracy, reliability, and behavioral regressions.
- Partner with Operations to understand workflows, identify automation opportunities, and translate process knowledge into agent capabilities.
- Mentor engineers as the team grows.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience building and operating production systems.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI agents, including orchestration, RAG, tool or function calling, or similar technologies.
- Strong API design and systems integration skills.
- Product-minded approach with the ability to contribute to product decisions and question requirements.
- Proven ownership of complex projects in ambiguous, early-stage environments.
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals and the ability to design, build, and operate production systems.
- Curiosity and motivation to develop practical expertise in AI, LLMs, and agent systems.
- Ability to work autonomously, balance quality with speed, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
