Responsibilities
- Understand internal developer needs, prototype solutions, and iterate based on engineering feedback.
- Design and build scalable backend systems, APIs, infrastructure, platforms, services, libraries, and developer tooling.
- Build AI-powered and non-AI workflows that improve developer productivity, software delivery, reliability, and usability.
- Integrate developer workflows with infrastructure, CI/CD, security, source control, deployment, and operational systems.
- Lead high-impact projects through problem definition, technical design, stakeholder alignment, implementation, and delivery.
- Write and review code and design documents while making pragmatic technical tradeoffs.
- Improve tools, processes, reliability, scalability, maintainability, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor engineers and help shape a roadmap based on developer needs and measurable impact.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on, post-graduate, non-internship professional software development experience, with backend, infrastructure, or platform engineering as a core strength.
- 3+ years of industry experience building and improving highly scalable and reliable large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency with Go and significant production experience using Go.
- Experience designing and implementing maintainable APIs using GraphQL, REST, HTTP, or gRPC.
- Experience building platforms, developer tools, libraries, frameworks, or internal systems used by engineers.
- Experience with infrastructure, Kubernetes, cloud providers, or systems supporting modern software development and delivery.
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered developer tools and workflows.
- Experience leading large, ambiguous, high-impact projects involving cross-team collaboration, technical judgment, stakeholder alignment, and end-to-end ownership.
- Strong communication, user focus, empathy for internal engineering users, and ability to influence technical direction.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar.
- Bonus: experience in developer experience, developer productivity, internal platforms, developer tooling, CI/CD systems, GitHub Enterprise Server, Python, or measuring platform impact through experimentation, analytics, reliability metrics, or feedback.

- Base salary range: $190,800-$267,100 USD.
