Responsibilities
- Improve the lifecycle of microservices and architectural components from design through deployment, operation, and refinement.
- Define, evolve, and manage service-level objectives.
- Write code and automation to reduce operational workload, improve efficiency and security, eliminate toil, and accelerate developer feature delivery.
- Scale systems sustainably and drive reliability and velocity improvements.
- Facilitate blameless incident root cause analysis and coordinate global incident response.
- Drive root cause identification and issue resolution with multiple teams during assisted service engagements.
Requirements
- Experience with cloud-native application development, full lifecycle service support, debugging, and troubleshooting across the technology stack.
- Deep understanding of AWS networking, compute, storage, and managed services.
- Competency with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins, plus infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Ability to write production-ready code in Java, Scala, or Go, with Linux command-line experience.
- Understanding of cloud-native software security and experience operating within iterative delivery frameworks.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or another scientific or technical discipline.
- At least 6 years of industry experience.
- Desirable experience includes Sumo Logic or other observability products, planet-scale product development, AWS SaaS operations, Kafka technologies, expert-level Java, Go, Scala, Python, Terraform, Jenkins, or Kubernetes, and JVM workload tuning at scale.
