Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and automation for Linux BSPs and low-level software components including bootloaders, kernels, drivers, and system services.
- Validate hardware bring-up, board initialization, platform integration, peripherals, sensors, watchdogs, and supervisor-board behavior across hardware revisions.
- Perform functional, regression, performance, OS upgrade, field-upgrade, and fail-safe testing.
- Triage and root-cause BSP, kernel, and driver issues using low-level debugging tools and serial console logs.
- Automate test execution and result collection with Python, Shell scripting, and Robot Framework in lab and CI environments.
- Maintain automation servers, device-under-test setups, network topologies, test documentation, and release qualification signoff.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems teams on thermal, power, reliability, and platform validation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in embedded software QA or platform validation, preferably for networking or telecom equipment.
- Strong understanding of Linux kernels, device drivers, and bootloader architecture, with hands-on BSP bring-up and low-level debugging experience.
- Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting for automation and test frameworks.
- Experience validating peripherals and interfaces such as EEPROM, CPLD, I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, sensors, and watchdogs.
- Familiarity with serial consoles, power analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, test management tools, and CI tools.
- Preferred experience with switching or routing platforms, SONiC, Ethernet networking protocols, OpenBMC, systemd services, hardware abstraction layers, platform SDKs, PCIe switch fabrics, SERDES, FPGA/CPLD interfaces, Yocto builds, and cross-compilation environments.
