Base Salary
$192k - $243k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own Android applications for the Digital Twin Platform, including scanning apps and Connected Stores experiences.
- Provide technical leadership for Android development by setting architecture, establishing best practices, and improving code quality.
- Collaborate with Caper, Inventory Intelligence, and Fulfillment teams to deliver scalable in-store data collection and shelf-intelligence solutions.
- Balance long-term architectural planning with rapid shipping and iteration as the store-view program evolves.
- Help define Android engineering practices and scope for the expanding Digital Twin Platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin and/or Java, with a record of shipping production-quality applications.
- Deep expertise in the Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and modern Android architecture patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
- Experience designing Android applications from the ground up and owning architecture decisions end to end.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with changing requirements and priorities.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred: experience with enterprise tools, hardware integrations, kiosk applications, or scanning and barcode workflows.
- Preferred: familiarity with Connected Stores technology, retail hardware platforms, embedded Android environments, or smart-cart ecosystems such as Caper Carts.
- Preferred: experience integrating Bluetooth, NFC, camera APIs, or other Android hardware peripherals.
- Preferred: background in data-intensive applications, real-time data pipelines, or inventory and logistics systems.
- Preferred: willingness to contribute to backend services and data engineering and expand beyond a purely Android-focused scope.
