Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production web services powering ResMed’s communications platform.
- Develop platform capabilities for additional communication channels and consumer and provider experiences.
- Contribute hands-on to coding, system design, and architectural decisions.
- Modernize existing services, reduce technical debt, and improve engineering standards.
- Own work across testing, deployment, and production support.
- Partner with engineers, architects, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable software.
- Improve code quality, testing, and automation while mentoring and sharing knowledge with fellow engineers.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- Expert-level Java experience with a strong foundation in object-oriented design and clean code principles.
- Extensive experience with AWS services and serverless technologies, including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
- Hands-on experience with NoSQL and relational databases such as DynamoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, authentication and authorization frameworks such as OAuth2 and JWT, and microservices architectures.
- Experience supporting software through testing, deployment, and production with an end-to-end delivery approach.
- Experience mentoring and supporting fellow engineers through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, message-brokering systems such as SQS or SNS, or event-driven architectures.
- Nice-to-have experience with DevOps and software testing practices, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring, automated testing, JavaScript or TypeScript, React.js, and/or Next.js.
