Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and validate hardware diagnostic modules for servers and infrastructure components deployed in Microsoft cloud data centers.
- Write software and test-automation scripts using C, C++, PowerShell, C#, Python, Perl, and Bash in Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Collaborate with Microsoft product groups, server ODMs, OEMs, and component vendors to test and validate tools integrated into diagnostic workflows.
- Support detection, mitigation, and correction of hardware faults and solve hardware and software problems in cloud environments.
Requirements
- At least five years of hands-on coding and scripting experience, including C, C++, or C# in Windows Server or Linux environments.
- At least three years of hands-on experience solving hardware and software problems in PC, enterprise-server, or cloud-server environments on x86 systems.
- Strong understanding of CPUs, motherboards, BIOS, BMC, memory, PCIe, storage, networking, and server infrastructure cooling components.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, plan and organize work, make decisions, and communicate results through technical reports.
- Preferred qualifications include test-automation development, diagnostic-code development, laboratory experience, cloud-scale architecture and infrastructure knowledge, and experience with silicon vendors and ODMs.
