Base Salary
$175k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the Waymo Driver perception stack across driving conditions.
- Help define perception development direction for new environments, platforms, and sensors.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to influence the roadmap for next-generation perception technology.
- Architect high-scale automation and evaluation frameworks for safety, performance, and reliability.
- Develop simulation tools for sensor emulation and testing vehicle performance against impairments and edge-case faults.
- Support sensing-system and software-release sign-offs and present results at milestone reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of experience creating, maintaining, and evaluating industrial AI or ML products.
- Experience developing and conducting evaluations for large ML software systems.
- Strong C++ programming experience with robust and efficient code.
- Preferred: master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience with at least 2 years of industry experience.
- Preferred: experience with L4 autonomous vehicles or L2/L3 ADAS systems.
- Preferred: strong software architecture skills.
