Base Salary
$98k - $146k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate critical, scalable backend services such as identity, friend graph, and persistence systems.
- Work across teams to understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver technical solutions.
- Independently execute medium-sized features over multiple weeks and pull requests.
- Test, debug, and improve the quality of backend systems.
- Advocate for availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management.
- Participate in incident or hotfix investigation and resolution when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent years of experience.
- Experience with backend services or distributed systems.
- Experience coding in an industry-standard language such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, Python, or C++.
- Ability to operate highly available systems at significant scale and understand their operational aspects.
- Preferred experience with Java, C++, Python, NoSQL solutions, Memcache, Redis, Kubernetes, or Google/AWS services.
- Preferred experience with large-scale microservices and distributed systems, cloud computing and storage systems, or infrastructure and large-scale system design.
