Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend systems for Spotify’s internal commerce platform.
- Develop and evolve services and data pipelines supporting invoicing, receipts, and payment flows.
- Work on high-scale distributed systems handling millions of transactions daily.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and data partners to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Contribute to architectural decisions shaping Spotify’s commerce ecosystem.
- Improve system performance, reliability, and observability across services.
- Participate in technical deep dives, code reviews, and engineering knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building backend services using Python, Java, or similar languages.
- Experience designing and scaling systems on cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
- Experience with scalable database technologies such as Postgres or similar.
- High AI fluency and thoughtful use of modern tools, including LLMs, to improve workflows and problem-solving.
- Experience modernizing or evolving legacy systems while maintaining stability.
- Exposure to commerce, payments, or financial systems.
- Clear communication skills, sound judgment, collaboration, and comfort leading technical discussions.
