Responsibilities
- Own and operate alerting and monitoring capabilities during a transition.
- Maintain and improve Microsoft Sentinel through detection rule authoring and tuning, data connector management, and alert-noise reduction.
- Operate and optimize Defender XDR and Defender for Cloud, including policy management and posture recommendations.
- Maintain automated security checks in delivery pipelines and contribute to detection-as-code and infrastructure-as-code.
- Coordinate vulnerability remediation with engineering squads and support data-loss-prevention controls.
- Secure AI workloads and their data exposure and support safeguards for business AI usage.
- Investigate suspicious activity, support incident response, and perform containment, evidence gathering, and post-incident reviews.
- Coordinate penetration testing engagements, including scope, logistics, findings review, and remediation prioritization.
- Contribute to threat modelling and communicate security risks to engineering and product audiences.
Requirements
- Hands-on SIEM experience, ideally with Microsoft Sentinel; Splunk, Chronicle, or QRadar experience is also considered.
- Practical Azure security experience with Defender for Cloud, Entra ID, Azure networking, and cloud security posture management.
- Experience writing security-focused infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Bicep.
- Experience driving vulnerability remediation cycles with engineering teams.
- Familiarity with data-loss-prevention controls and AI security considerations.
- Ability to contribute to threat modelling and communicate security risk clearly.
- SC-200 Microsoft Security Operations Analyst certification.
- Proficiency with KQL for detection rule authoring and threat hunting.
- Experience in a similar fintech or financial services environment.
- Ability to work independently and deliver immediate impact in a contract role.
