Base Salary
$115k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and architecture of scalable, elastic distributed systems for hyperscale workloads.
- Define scalability requirements, optimize performance, and leverage distributed state management and data-plane platforms.
- Design highly available systems using redundancy, replication, failover, load shedding, throttling, and rate limiting.
- Establish SLOs, KPIs, telemetry, dashboards, and alerts for reliability and performance.
- Design performance, load, fault-injection, and brownout testing and implement replication and synchronization mechanisms.
- Diagnose production issues, guide incident response and root cause analysis, and ensure operational readiness.
- Implement encryption, access controls, security remediation, and compliance documentation for multi-tenant environments.
- Develop infrastructure-as-code and automation for cloud infrastructure, including safe patching, updates, and rollbacks.
- Manage moderately complex initiatives and provide technical oversight across priorities, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers, support knowledge sharing, improve team processes, and participate in candidate interviews and hiring recommendations.
Requirements
- Experience designing and developing scalable, elastic distributed systems for high-throughput workloads.
- Ability to design fault-tolerant, highly available systems with replication, failover, resilience, and synchronization mechanisms.
- Experience with performance optimization, observability, telemetry, alerting, and reliability practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot production systems and guide incident response and root cause analysis.
- Experience implementing security, compliance, encryption, access controls, and safe operational change practices.
- Experience developing infrastructure-as-code and automation for cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to manage moderately complex technical initiatives, provide technical oversight, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams.
