Base Salary
$202k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead key projects contributing to one or more team top-line KPIs.
- Work with cross-functional partners to develop product requirements and technical designs.
- Create strategic roadmaps supporting Uber’s autonomous vehicle rideshare business goals.
- Lead end-to-end execution of multiple concurrent projects across multiple lines of business.
- Build and ship products and paradigms that improve quarterly business metrics while preserving platform stability.
- Develop scalable technology for autonomous vehicle use cases with broader company-wide impact.
- Collaborate with product, design, business, legal, operations, technical project management, and external engineering teams.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus two years of full-time software engineering experience, or five years of full-time software engineering experience.
- Three years of total specialized software engineering experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, or Go, which may be gained through education, work experience, training, coursework, or research.
- Preferred qualifications include five or more years of total software development experience.
- Experience with fast-paced, metrics-driven product iteration and strong reliability guardrails.
- Experience designing large-scale distributed systems and scalable backend services using microservices architecture.
- Experience building modular, scalable solutions for varied clients and use cases.
- Experience applying Operations Research and Machine Learning to product engineering.
- Background in transportation or the autonomous vehicle industry is preferred.
- Experience navigating complex cross-functional and external partner collaboration is preferred.
- Any level of enterprise mobile engineering experience is preferred.
