$202k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead key projects that contribute to team KPIs and execute multiple initiatives across business lines.
- Partner with product, design, business, legal, operations, technical project management, and external engineering teams to define requirements, technical designs, and consensus.
- Develop strategic roadmaps supporting Uber’s autonomous vehicle rideshare goals and business expansion.
- Ship products and technical paradigms that improve metrics while maintaining platform stability and reliability.
- Build future-proof, modular, and scalable distributed systems and backend services for autonomous vehicle use cases.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and two years of full-time software engineering experience, or five years of full-time software engineering experience.
- Three years of total specialized technical software engineering experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, or Go; this experience may come from education, work, training, coursework, research, or similar experience.
- Five or more years of total software development experience preferred.
- Preferred experience developing, testing, or optimizing autonomous vehicle systems or related technologies.
- Preferred experience with large-scale distributed systems, scalable backend services, microservices architecture, modular solutions, and product engineering applications of Operations Research.
- Preferred transportation or autonomous vehicle industry background and experience collaborating with external engineering teams and cross-functional business partners.
- Any level of enterprise mobile engineering experience is preferred.

- Base salary range of USD $202,000-$224,000 per year for San Francisco- or Seattle-based roles.

- Full-time role with location-specific compensation for San Francisco, Seattle, and other US locations.
