Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate backend services within a domain-driven microservices architecture.
  • Build RESTful APIs, event-driven pipelines, data processing services, and AI-enabled application capabilities.
  • Write maintainable Java and Spring Boot code across controller, service, and persistence layers.
  • Debug and resolve production issues, contribute to incident analysis, and implement stability, reliability, and performance improvements.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows for reliable service delivery and operation.
  • Participate in code reviews, automated testing strategies, requirements refinement, technical solution design, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams on SAP Sustainability Data Exchange.
  • Develop expertise in SAP technologies and the platform’s multi-tenant supply-chain data model.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in backend development.
  • Solid programming skills in Java and Spring Boot with understanding of object-oriented programming and design principles.
  • Experience with AI/LLM workflows, prompt design, and integrating AI services into applications.
  • Practical knowledge of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
  • Hands-on experience building and operating cloud-based microservices, with strong coding and debugging skills.
  • Experience with relational or NoSQL databases; MongoDB experience is a plus, and SAP HANA migration experience is relevant.
  • Familiarity with observability, including logging, metrics, tracing, performance tuning, and system monitoring.
  • Experience with testing, validation, troubleshooting production systems, and Git version control.
  • Experience working in an agile environment using Scrum methodology.
  • Beneficial experience includes SAP BTP, CloudFoundry, GCP, AWS, Azure, SAP CAP, CDS models, generated DAOs, code-generation or ORM frameworks, Gradle multi-module builds, Docker, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, multi-tenancy patterns, and supply-chain or sustainability domains.
