Responsibilities
- Assist with pre-installation verification and production security configuration for BRSE communications software build packages.
- Execute production baseline acceptance testing and data verification on BRSE HF application builds.
- Integrate and configure forward error correction, compression, and delivery protocol parameters in production software releases.
- Improve the production software pipeline with automated static code scans, minimized container images, container scans, and remediation updates.
- Prepare software and deployment configurations for low-data-rate operational fielding requirements.
- Submit monthly status reports and bi-weekly time reports.
Requirements
- Have a bachelor’s degree in the required discipline and be enrolled in a master’s degree program.
- Be majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
- Complete coursework in operating systems, networking, and cybersecurity.
- Have experience or proficiency with Python and Bash.
- Be able to accomplish at least 50% of the task without supervision.
- Obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance and meet the US-citizenship requirement.
- Reside in California within commuting distance of SDSU at the time of hire.
- Preferred qualifications include Red Hat Linux, Alpine Linux, OpenShift or MicroShift, and Grype container scanning experience.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and communication skills are desired.
Benefits
