Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Energy Management applications using the .NET framework.
  • Monitor applications, troubleshoot bugs and malfunctions, and optimize code for performance and reliability.
  • Integrate new software with existing systems and databases while maintaining data integrity and accessibility.
  • Gather and act on user feedback and collaborate with developers, business analysts, consultants, and vendors.
  • Maintain technical documentation and knowledge-retention materials.
  • Ensure applications follow OTI compliance standards and data-security best practices.
  • Provide training and support to business teams as needed.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in computer science or a related computer field and two years of satisfactory full-time software experience, including one year as a project leader or major contributor on a complex project; or a four-year high school diploma or equivalent and six years of qualifying software experience, including one year in that capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • All candidates must have a four-year high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of satisfactory full-time software experience as a project leader or major contributor on a complex project.
  • Qualifying experience includes designing, programming, debugging, maintaining, implementing, or enhancing software applications, systems programming, systems analysis and design, data communication software, or database design and programming.
  • A master's degree in computer science or a related computer field may substitute for one year of required experience, subject to the stated conditions.
  • Applicants must be permanently serving in the Computer Specialist Software title or reachable on the Computer Specialist Software civil service exam, with eligibility also available through the 55-a Program.
  • Experience in computer operations, technical support, quality assurance, hardware installation, help desk, or end-user work does not satisfy the minimum qualification requirements.
  • Assignment Level IV additionally requires one year of qualifying project-leader or major-contributor experience in specified data, systems, or online application areas.
