Responsibilities
- Own the pipeline that produces demand models, renewal probabilities, price elasticity, compliance scores, and rental pricing recommendations.
- Rebuild ingestion and reconciliation systems for inconsistent property-management-system APIs and source data.
- Provision and maintain databases, queues, IAM roles, networking, encryption, and alarms through Terraform.
- Build orchestration for ingestion, inference, and downstream daily jobs, including input gating and clean recovery from upstream delays.
- Develop observability and alerting for pipeline health, data freshness, and recommendation drift.
- Work across Python, Terraform, and Ruby on Rails in production changes.
- Maintain production ML serving and ensure model outputs remain correct over time.
- Establish strong practices and review standards for AI-assisted engineering.
- Deliver end-to-end changes from repository through production, including alarms, backfills, runbooks, and migrations.
Requirements
- 8+ years building and operating production systems with ownership of something significant.
- Strong Python experience in serverless or service contexts, including AWS Lambda, container images, dependency management, runtime management, and multi-stage job orchestration.
- Hands-on Terraform experience provisioning production data stores with IAM, encryption, networking, and alarms.
- Fluency in analytical SQL and data modeling, including building and debugging multi-stage warehouse pipelines and reconciling messy source data.
- Experience across relational, key-value/document, and search database paradigms.
- Ability to own changes across a large Ruby on Rails codebase.
- Deep AWS experience with Lambda, S3, SQS, Kinesis, EventBridge, DynamoDB, Aurora/RDS, Redshift, and IAM.
- Production ML experience involving model serving, versioning, dependency drift, feature plumbing, and explainability; model training is not required.
- Experience working autonomously in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment.
- Golang experience is preferred.
- Experience with web scraping at scale, such as Playwright, is preferred.
- OpenSearch index management and tuning experience is preferred.
- SOC 2 or similar compliance and security remediation experience is preferred.
- Experience with xgboost, scikit-learn, or SHAP is preferred.
- Multifamily, PropTech, or revenue management experience is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; the company does not provide employment visa sponsorship.
