Responsibilities
- Contribute to medium- and large-sized projects with cross-functional impact
- Develop loosely coupled, scalable, testable, modular, and reusable solutions
- Write clean, maintainable code following engineering best practices
- Work with cloud systems, pipelines, and resources
- Query SQL, NoSQL, and caching-based data storage and persistence systems
- Use Kafka for real-time data streaming and processing
- Use Kubernetes to automate application deployment, scaling, and management
- Test, troubleshoot, and optimize application components for speed, security, and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design new features
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies and approaches to advance software engineering at Carvana
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar field from an accredited undergraduate institution
- At least two years of software development experience in either C#/.NET Core with GraphQL, Web API, and Azure services or JavaScript/TypeScript with React Hooks, Next.js, and Nx
- Experience working on applications that share common resources
- Strong fundamentals in writing effective unit tests
- Experience debugging and troubleshooting web applications, API integrations, and infrastructure
- Experience with a cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or RedHat is preferred
- Experience with CosmosDB or other NoSQL databases is preferred
- Experience with message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is preferred
- Experience writing GraphQL interfaced services is preferred
- Experience with authentication and authorization, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, or PKCE, is preferred
- Experience with integrated monorepo solutions, React Query, state management tools, Storybook, native device integrations, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux command-line development tools is preferred
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
