Responsibilities
- Design, build, manage, and maintain highly available, scalable, and stable OpenSearch clusters.
- Develop self-service ecosystem tools and automation for administrators and customer teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in large-scale, high-traffic OpenSearch clusters.
- Optimize search and analytics infrastructure performance, reliability, and availability.
- Estimate engineering effort, plan implementations, and roll out system changes.
- Maintain team standards and best practices while developing technical expertise.
- Use AI coding agents and tools to deliver production-quality software and improve engineering velocity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of work experience in Java software development, including at least 2+ years with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
- Expertise in object-oriented design methodology and Java application development.
- Hands-on experience with the ELKB stack—Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats—or the OpenSearch stack.
- Understanding of Elasticsearch/OpenSearch cluster architecture, sharding, indexing, replication, and query optimization.
- Ability to triage and resolve critical technical issues independently.
- Experience building production-grade software with AI coding agents and using tools such as Claude Code and Codex.
- Ability to provide AI coding agents with appropriate context, specifications, constraints, and validation criteria.
- Experience capturing and expressing business, architecture, codebase, and operational knowledge for autonomous agent execution.
- Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch core or Lucene is a plus.
- React and Node.js skills are a plus.
- Result-oriented delivery focus, strong written and oral English communication skills, and experience in a multinational company are preferred.
