Responsibilities
- Hunt for and close security vulnerabilities across Counterpart Assistant using tools and custom scripts.
- Harden platform systems, services, and endpoints and establish security monitoring.
- Safeguard PHI, monitor deidentification practices, and prevent protected-data leakage.
- Use AI agents and frameworks to scale vulnerability discovery and help engineers build safely amid evolving AI threats.
- Review critical pull requests, conduct security training, and mentor engineers on secure coding.
- Partner with site reliability engineering, engineering leadership, and corporate security teams on defensive strategies.
- Strengthen platform resilience and disaster recovery.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience and 4+ years focused on application security, vulnerability research, and penetration testing.
- Demonstrated ability to identify vulnerabilities using custom tooling.
- Experience using AI, agents, and frameworks for continuous vulnerability discovery, with an understanding of appropriate guardrails.
- Ability to write code across the stack and work comfortably with multiple programming languages.
- Ability to balance security with the needs of engineers, clinicians, and operators and focus on measurable results.
- Experience mentoring engineers in secure coding and security practices.
- Interest in the risk considerations of software that affects patient care.
