Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, test, deploy, and monitor internal platforms and tools for People, Finance, Operations, Sales, and Engineering teams.
- Own systems end-to-end from requirements and architecture through production deployment and iteration.
- Build API-first integrations across HRIS, CRM, finance, knowledge-management, and developer-tool systems.
- Design reliable, performant, and scalable services while eliminating data silos through clean data pipelines and a single source of truth.
- Own production services, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-mortems.
- Build AI- and LLM-powered features for approvals, knowledge retrieval, reporting, content generation, and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify pain points and shape technical solutions.
- Pair with and mentor junior engineers and contribute through code reviews, design reviews, and technical leadership.
- Propose architectural improvements, challenge assumptions, and drive engineering best practices across the team.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including meaningful experience building internal tools, platforms, or business systems.
- Strong full-stack or backend engineering skills and proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, TypeScript/Node.js, or Java.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining API integrations between third-party SaaS platforms such as Workday, Salesforce, Slack, and NetSuite.
- Strong data fundamentals, including relational databases, data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and SQL.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into technical solutions and communicate technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Airflow, or Prefect, or integration platforms such as Workato, Tray.io, or MuleSoft is preferred.
- Frontend experience with React, Next.js, or equivalent modern frameworks is preferred.
- Familiarity with HRIS, ERP, or people-systems data models and processes is preferred.
- Experience at a high-growth or AI-native company, contributions to developer-experience tooling, CLIs, or internal SDKs, and experience shipping AI/LLM-powered features are preferred.
