Responsibilities
- Lead strategic initiatives for advanced data solutions and serve as the primary technical liaison with leadership.
- Design and implement data platform technologies while providing strategic direction on industry tools, architectures, and cloud strategies.
- Lead enterprise partnerships, governance alignment, consensus-building, and execution of data initiatives.
- Define the strategic vision for data products and services, including backlog management, market research, architecture, and optimization.
- Oversee technical design, delivery, workflows, testing, configuration, coding standards, and success criteria throughout the agile product management cycle.
- Monitor, report, and forecast data platform performance and costs while refining business cases for strategic decisions and resource allocation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 15 years of work experience and knowledge of major data engineering industry toolsets.
- Experience with relational, columnar, Hadoop Distributed File System, and graph databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, NoSQL, Azure ADLS, AWS EMS, and Databricks.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Azure ADF, AWS Glue, and Informatica, plus on-premise and cloud-based data solutions.
- Experience developing systems for cloud deployments using AWS, EKS, and Lambda, with exposure to Azure data environments preferred.
- Experience modeling third normal form and Star/Snowflake data warehouse systems, as well as data profiling and analysis.
- Preferred master’s degree in computer science or a STEM field or equivalent experience.
- Preferred 17–19 years of experience in data engineering, DevOps, automated testing, statistical process controls, cloud engineering, and data warehousing.
