Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of approximately 4–7 developers and drive technical discussions and architectural decisions.
- Own end-to-end technical delivery of software products and engineering tools.
- Define architecture, coding standards, development practices, and software quality standards.
- Design and develop Python applications, desktop applications, REST APIs, backend services, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
- Build data-processing pipelines, ETL workflows, analytics solutions, KPI generation, and engineering simulations.
- Integrate MATLAB algorithms into Python applications and workflows.
- Optimize application performance and scalability.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins automation workflows, and Docker-based deployments.
- Conduct code reviews and manage release delivery and stakeholder expectations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience is required; detailed requirements request 6+ years of hands-on Python development.
- At least 2 years of experience leading development teams and experience managing 4–7 engineers.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Strong Python, object-oriented programming, design patterns, software architecture, multithreading, and asynchronous programming experience.
- Experience with Django, Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, Plotly, Jupyter Notebook or JupyterHub, and PySide or PyQt.
- Experience developing desktop applications, dashboards, reporting tools, REST APIs, data-processing pipelines, ETL workflows, and JSON/XML integrations.
- Experience with databases such as MySQL.
- Experience with Jenkins, Git, GitHub Actions, Docker, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
- Working knowledge of MATLAB and the ability to integrate MATLAB algorithms with Python workflows.
- Gen-AI/RAG architecture and LLM API integration experience are additional skills.
