Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials based on functional requirements and analysis.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide technical feedback.
- Design, implement, test, maintain, debug, and support software systems and scalable web services.
- Lead architecture, design, implementation, architecture reviews, and code reviews for complex technical projects.
- Improve system quality by identifying issues and patterns, developing standard operating procedures, and enhancing existing applications and codebases.
- Investigate new technologies and lead cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues, product management, cross-functional teams, and customer support to resolve technical problems and deliver solutions.
- Mentor less experienced developers and lead project work while making independent technical decisions.
- Translate AI, automation, LLM, and engineering-toolchain innovations into business and productivity impact.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in Java full-stack development and Java Enterprise Edition.
- At least 10 years of experience developing software or systems for large business environments and mission-critical, low-latency solutions.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture skills, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, cloud and DevOps technologies, CI/CD, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems, data architecture, software security practices, and at least one shell scripting language.
- Experience with React, Pulsar, and Snowflake is preferred.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains, with the ability to translate AI innovation into business impact.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master's degree is a plus.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, decision-making, collaboration, and customer-focus skills.
