Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support cloud and locally hosted solutions for service deployment, availability, and operations.
- Own custom Python microservices, ensuring scalability, security, and integration with broader infrastructure.
- Monitor service health using New Relic and respond to escalations to maintain 99.9% production availability.
- Improve infrastructure and processes for deployability, scalability, security, and fault tolerance.
- Automate operational, testing, installation, and related processes.
- Collaborate with service developers to resolve complex operational issues.
- Document procedures for resolving issues in complex systems.
- Build CI/CD solutions to improve developer productivity and accelerate deployments.
- Support and extend existing Python service software.
- Collaborate with the team on DevOps best practices.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of DevOps experience.
- Strong Python expertise; Kotlin experience is a major plus.
- Experience building automation or dependency-management tools with PyPy or uv.
- Experience with infrastructure management and deployment.
- Experience with Docker, Docker Swarm, or Kubernetes.
- Proficiency managing Linux and macOS operating systems.
- Experience with MySQL or DynamoDB.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
- Knowledge of monitoring solutions such as Prometheus or New Relic.
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred: familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure, or Oracle cloud data centers.
- Preferred: experience with Apple ecosystems, including iOS and macOS, and device-farm management.
- Preferred: Kotlin programming experience.
