Base Salary
$160k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable platform capabilities that support Bloomberg’s adoption of public cloud technologies.
- Develop self-service tooling, APIs, automation, and workflows to improve developer experience and reduce operational complexity.
- Partner with Engineering, Security, SRE, and Infrastructure teams to understand requirements and drive platform adoption.
- Build reliable, secure, and maintainable solutions within a public cloud platform domain.
- Use software engineering and infrastructure-as-code practices to automate platform operations and improve service quality.
- Define standards, best practices, and paved-road experiences for engineering teams.
- Contribute to the architecture, implementation, and long-term evolution of Bloomberg’s public cloud platforms.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional experience in software engineering, infrastructure engineering, site reliability engineering, or platform engineering.
- Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages such as Go, Python, Java, or C++.
- Experience designing, building, or operating production systems at scale.
- Strong Linux/Unix fundamentals.
- Experience with one or more public cloud providers, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience identifying automation opportunities and driving solutions from design through implementation.
- Preferred experience includes internal developer platforms, cloud platforms, self-service engineering capabilities, cloud governance, security and compliance automation, identity and access management, secrets or certificate management, cloud networking, compute platforms, software supply chain security, observability, reliability engineering, platform APIs, Kubernetes, highly available distributed systems, enterprise or regulated environments, and cloud-native open-source contributions.
