Responsibilities

Maintain the existing software platform and develop new features using Java backend technologies.
Apply software engineering principles across design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation.
Build software with attention to security, information security, personal-data protection, quality, and scalability.
Participate in Agile meetings, rituals, projects, and team coordination.
Document work clearly for future users and maintain awareness of relevant technical developments.

At least 7 years of experience working with Java backend tools and frameworks, including Spring.
In-depth experience building software from the ground up and a strong focus on quality and scalability.
Experience with microservices and AWS is highly preferred.
Excellent spoken and written English skills.
Currently based in Portugal, South Africa, or Kenya.
Must complete the stated recruitment process, including recruiter screening, technical interviews, and a technical challenge.

Gross monthly salary in South Africa of R72,734–R121,223 paid 12 times per year; Portugal and Kenya have separate location-specific salary ranges.
