Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable integrations among healthcare applications, data sources, and external systems.
- Engineer and configure MLLP gateways, Apache NiFi pipelines, Open Integration Engine adapters, and healthcare interfaces.
- Develop and support bidirectional CHIE and partner exchange integrations for EHR, claims, and public-health feeds.
- Evaluate interface requirements, existing systems, and data flows to define integration solutions.
- Perform data mapping, transformation, message routing, interface configuration, testing, and production support.
- Troubleshoot complex interface and data-flow issues and document technical solutions with internal teams and external partners.
- Collaborate with architects, FHIR engineers, developers, testers, onboarding teams, and external partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 or more years of related software integration engineering experience.
- Experience developing healthcare interfaces using HL7 v2 and MLLP.
- Experience configuring Apache NiFi pipelines and Open Integration Engine adapters.
- Strong skills in data mapping, transformation, message routing, and complex interface troubleshooting.
- Experience with Java, scripting, XML, JSON, SQL, and API integration.
- Experience integrating EHR, claims, public-health, HIE, or CHIE data.
- Experience supporting federal Health IT programs, including VA, DHA, or HHS, is an additional qualification.
- Ability to communicate technical requirements and findings clearly and work autonomously across architecture, engineering, testing, and onboarding teams.
- U.S. citizenship is required; selected candidates must complete a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance when required.
