Responsibilities
- Build and ship production backend services using AI-assisted and agentic coding tools.
- Set up and maintain the team’s AI-assisted software development pipeline, including agent configurations, prompt and context templates, MCP integrations, and guardrails.
- Develop and operate automated unit, API, end-to-end, and load testing in cloud-managed service environments, including AI-assisted test generation and review.
- Develop infrastructure as code for reliable, automated application deployment.
- Document software changes, AI workflows, prompts, issues, and solutions for engineers, quality assurance, and documentation teams.
- Collaborate within an agile scrum team and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and apply AI tools, workflows, and best practices while maintaining responsibility for the resulting code.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience shipping code with AI-assisted or agentic development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar.
- Backend development experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js, including Node.js design patterns and best practices.
- Experience with logging and tracing platforms such as Kibana or Datadog.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
- Experience with AWS or another cloud provider and large-scale cloud service or microservice architectures.
- Experience working with Linux, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Knowledge of performance, security, user interactions, algorithms, and data structures in complex systems.
- Practical experience reviewing, validating, and taking responsibility for AI-generated code.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to learn new languages and AI tools quickly.
- Preferred experience in cybersecurity, information protection compliance such as NIST or HIPAA, AI workflow design, MCP servers, custom agents, LangChain, AutoGen, prompt/context engineering, and model-output evaluation.
