Responsibilities
- Use incident management processes, application monitoring metrics, and tooling to generate reports and take corrective actions.
- Understand complex application systems and debug business-impacting issues.
- Apply standards and best practices to improve operational efficiency, system stability, and availability.
- Use continuous delivery practices to evolve, support, and deliver high-quality software.
- Apply logging techniques for alerting, monitoring, and incident root-cause identification.
- Use DevOps tools and practices to deploy and run software.
- Deliver high-quality bug fixes and enhancements to existing codebases.
- Mentor less experienced peers through technical knowledge and leadership.
- Apply current technology practices to solve client problems.
Requirements
- Experience with Java or .NET, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
- Understanding of monolithic, N-tier, layered, microservices, and serverless architectures.
- Strong debugging and triaging skills for troubleshooting code.
- Experience with relational databases such as MS SQL, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, as well as relational or non-relational databases.
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Azure Pipelines.
- Understanding of application monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana and the ability to generate reports and take corrective actions.
- Ability to deliver high-quality, well-tested bug fixes and enhancements.
- Comfort with Agile methods such as Scrum and/or Kanban.
- Strong communication, technical advocacy, resilience in ambiguous situations, and willingness to share expertise through community activities.
- Ability to advocate for cloud optimization, monitoring, alerting, and security best practices.
- Ability to guide and mentor junior-level consultants.
- Willingness to participate in a rotation- and need-based 24x7 available team.
