Senior Software Engineer in Test
Warner Bros. DiscoveryResponsibilities
- Create and execute automated and manual test cases for complex feature enhancements.
- Build and contribute to stable, scalable automated test suites using existing frameworks.
- Determine test coverage and sign off on features or releases based on team best practices.
- Perform black-box testing, document bugs, analyze test results, and support developer troubleshooting.
- Coordinate regression testing and release testing while documenting features and requirements from a testing perspective.
- Influence testing methodologies, prioritization decisions, and quality processes through collaboration with peers and management.
- Work with developers, product managers, stakeholders, and distributed teams to understand requirements and communicate defects clearly.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience with test activities including automation, regression, UI, and API testing.
- Experience driving test design and implementation.
- Ability to write high-quality, stable automated test cases using existing frameworks.
- Understanding of test cases, test data, test runs, test result management, and test coverage analysis.
- Ability to review automated test results, triage failures, and verify outcomes.
- Ability to organize test inventories to maximize coverage while minimizing test cases.
- Understanding of unit, functional, integration, end-to-end, security, performance, load, and UI testing.
- Proficiency with JavaScript or Java.
- Experience with Selenium or Appium for UI automation and mobile automation tools for Android or iOS.
- Experience with Jenkins or GitHub Actions, GitHub or SVN, and Jira, TestRail, or Qmetry.
- Understanding of digital product development and testing for web, mobile, and backend services.
- Interest in emerging testing trends such as AI testing is preferred.
