
Staff R&D Engineer-Algorithm

- Lead research, design, development, and optimization of algorithms for health and wellness monitoring using wearable sensor data.
- Architect signal-processing and machine-learning pipelines for physiological metrics.
- Evaluate sensor signal quality, integrity, and reliability.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to deploy algorithms efficiently and at scale.
- Validate algorithms using real-world and clinical-grade datasets across diverse populations and use cases.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of algorithm development using academic research and industry best practices.
- Optimize algorithms for real-time, low-power execution on embedded systems.
- Enable deployment of algorithms on-device and in the cloud.
- Translate algorithmic concepts into efficient, maintainable, and scalable Python code.
Requirements
- BS with 10+ years, MS with 8+ years, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Hands-on industry experience developing and deploying algorithms for wearable or IoT-based health and fitness products.
- Deep expertise in signal processing, machine learning, and physiological data analysis, including PPG, ECG, or accelerometry.
- Strong experience with wearable sensors and evaluating signal quality and integrity.
- Knowledge of embedded-system constraints and experience optimizing algorithms for real-time or low-power devices.
- Experience working cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, and software teams to bring algorithms into production.
- Experience validating algorithms with real-world and clinical-grade datasets.
- Hands-on experience with machine-learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with digital health, biomedical engineering, academic research, or related industry practices.
- Strong Python implementation skills and effective oral, written, visual, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in regulated environments such as FDA or CE-marked devices, or familiarity with clinical validation studies, is a plus.
