Base Salary
$138k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, review, and maintain secure, high-quality production software.
- Build and deliver scalable enterprise applications using Java, SQL, UI frameworks, microservices, cloud-native architecture, and data stores.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring issue remediation and improve application and system operational stability.
- Lead vendor, startup, and internal technical evaluation sessions focused on architecture and technology applicability.
- Drive adoption of authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis support.
- Establish validation standards for AI-assisted outputs covering correctness, performance, secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
- Lead Software Engineering communities of practice and promote new technologies and reusable engineering patterns.
- Coach engineers on responsible, secure, compliant use of AI-assisted development tools.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least five years of hands-on software development lifecycle experience.
- Experience with Java, SQL, UI frameworks, design patterns, microservices, cloud-native architecture, Angular, React, and enterprise-scale applications.
- Experience with SQL performance tuning, JDBC, ORM frameworks, Hibernate, and JPA.
- Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores, including Oracle and MongoDB.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database-query languages.
- Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience coaching engineers on safe and compliant AI-assisted delivery practices.
- Understanding of agile development practices, application resiliency, security, and CI/CD.
- Proficiency with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Deep knowledge of messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka.
- Preferred: familiarity with DevOps practices, containerization, and orchestration; exposure to Copilot, Claude, and AWS.
