Base Salary

$240k - $295k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the skill-and-eval contract for a real operational vertical, with decision capture and transparent results for underwriters.
  • Build an evaluation framework and diagnostic center that makes new evaluations and metrics quick to create and broadly accessible.
  • Create a permission-aware tooling center for reusable MCP capabilities.
  • Build the agent deployment pipeline and required checks for determining whether agents are ready to ship.
  • Develop the engineer and agent-builder experience, including guidance on technologies and deployment strategies.
  • Build an opinionated platform for agent deployment and lifecycle management for the engineering team.
  • Develop a high-throughput orchestration engine for multi-agent workflows, dependency management, fleet-wide health monitoring, and consistent ecosystem performance.
  • Work across Flow, Rails & Trails, the Substrate, and Applied Science to connect agent capabilities to operational workflows and models.

Requirements

  • Proven experience shipping agentic systems into production environments where reliability is critical.
  • Demonstrated experience building tools or frameworks for engineering teams.
  • Proficiency designing and managing evaluation frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience building Model Context Protocol (MCP) implementations.
  • Experience managing prompts and skills in production environments.
  • Familiarity with authorization frameworks and best practices.
  • Comfort and experience with product discovery.
  • Experience in insurance or another regulated operational domain is preferred.
  • Experience transforming logged human decisions into preference datasets for fine-tuning and reward modeling is preferred.
  • Experience building internal tooling for agentic software development, including sandboxed environments, fast worktrees, anonymized production data, or self-verifying agents, is preferred.
  • Enough frontend experience with React and Next.js to prototype queue surfaces is preferred.
  • Contributions to open-source agent frameworks, evaluation tooling, or MCP servers are preferred.
  • Experience partnering with applied-science or research teams and shipping their work into a product loop is preferred.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.; Stand does not sponsor new work visas.

  • Full-time position with an annual base salary range of $240,000 to $295,000 plus meaningful equity grant.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.; the company does not sponsor new work visas but may consider TN, O-1A, or qualifying H-1B transfer candidates.
