Responsibilities
- Implement and manage the full lifecycle of enterprise observability platforms based on Elastic technologies.
- Onboard more than 20,000 devices, infrastructure, cloud services, applications, and platforms into monitoring and observability solutions.
- Build and maintain dashboards, visualizations, alerts, operational reports, runbooks, onboarding guides, and observability standards.
- Configure log, metric, trace, uptime, APM, and synthetic monitoring data collection, including ingestion, parsing, enrichment, and retention.
- Support incident investigation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, postmortems, platform upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and operational support.
- Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, application, and SRE teams to improve reliability, service visibility, monitoring coverage, and operational readiness.
- Develop automation and repeatable deployments using scripting, infrastructure as code, CI/CD practices, and configuration management.
- Guide infrastructure subject-matter experts on onboarding data sources and consuming observability outputs.
- Mentor and cross-train teams while contributing to continuous improvement of observability practices and operational standards.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of SRE or DevOps experience in enterprise-scale or mission-critical environments.
- At least 5 years of cloud, application, or platform operations and administration experience across AWS, Azure, hybrid, or multicloud environments.
- At least 5 years of automation, CI/CD, and scripting experience using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, or equivalent technologies.
- At least 5 years of experience with containers and cloud-native platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- At least 3 years of experience administering Elastic Observability platforms through deployment, maintenance, upgrades, patching, and capacity scaling.
- Strong experience with Elastic Stack technologies, observability concepts, telemetry collection, ingestion pipelines, dashboards, alerting, distributed infrastructure, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Grafana, Graylog, Splunk, Sumo Logic, Tanzu, or open-source equivalents.
- Proficiency with REST APIs, Postman, GitHub, Jenkins, YAML-based configuration, Terraform, Ansible, and related DevOps tooling.
- Knowledge of AWS and Azure services relevant to ingestion and enrichment, including Kinesis, Event Hub, Lambda, and Functions.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS or Azure Associate-level certification, Elastic Certified Engineer certification, equivalent practical cloud operations experience, or AWS Professional-level certification.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, service meshes, hybrid deployments, data sovereignty, regulatory considerations, security monitoring, compliance awareness, shared infrastructure services, and Agile or ITIL processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, documentation, mentoring, and customer-focused operational skills.
