Base Salary

$180k - $230k/yr

Responsibilities

Design and build distributed software systems for manufacturing hardware coordination.
Write, test, and debug sensors, actuators, and process controllers under real-time constraints.
Design workflows that bridge manual and automated process steps.
Evolve existing systems, including API development for machine behavior.
Instrument systems for machine and process data legibility.
Investigate and resolve issues across software, firmware, and physical systems.
Establish and model software engineering practices suitable for the team.
Contribute to system reliability through observability and fault handling.
Collaborate with engineers to translate physical constraints into software behavior.
Partner with leadership to converge architectural visions.

5+ years of experience building or debugging systems with external dependencies.
Proven track record of making and defending architecture decisions.
Strong Python skills and proficiency in a systems or strongly-typed language.
Solid grounding in distributed systems fundamentals.
Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, or observability tooling.
Comfort operating against incomplete specifications.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
