Responsibilities
- Define product and technical direction for AI voice agent experiences.
- Build, ship, and iteratively improve voice agent products from zero to one.
- Design systems for shared context, concurrent interaction arbitration, scalability, and post hoc investigation of real-time decisions.
- Document architectural tradeoffs and build generalizable foundations for evolving use cases.
- Review designs, unblock technical decisions, mentor engineers, and serve as the team's technical anchor.
- Introduce and scale full-stack and AI-assisted engineering patterns across the team.
- Use Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor throughout development, investigation, design, testing, review, and operational work.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including owning products from concept through production.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Recent primary experience shipping LLM- or agent-based products end to end, including production evaluation of AI behavior.
- Experience with memory, context, or retrieval systems such as RAG pipelines, vector databases, or long-lived session context.
- Strong programming and software design fundamentals in Go, TypeScript, and Python.
- Experience designing APIs and service boundaries used by other systems.
- Experience setting technical direction and mentoring engineers.
- Strong communication and ability to influence technical direction without formal authority.
- Residence in and authorization to work in the United States or Canada.
- Preferred experience includes zero-to-one product development, persistent memory or personalization systems, multi-agent orchestration, scheduling or arbitration systems, and structured plus open-ended signal collection.
