Responsibilities
- Develop software drivers for hardware peripherals across next-generation embedded platforms.
- Perform board bring-up, adapt existing drivers, enhance software, and tune performance for embedded systems.
- Design new driver architectures that maximize reuse, efficiency, and simplicity.
- Develop drivers for bootloaders, serial devices, network stacks, storage, PCIe, USB, and other complex buses.
- Apply software quality standards and support development under functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
- Develop software within established V-Model-driven frameworks and standardized software architecture practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience in embedded system programming.
- Proven experience developing and adapting drivers for hardware peripherals and developing board support packages.
- In-depth knowledge of C, C++, and/or Rust.
- Hands-on experience with embedded operating systems including QNX, Linux, Green Hills, or VxWorks.
- Experience writing software for ARM, x86, PPC, or other major processor architectures.
- Familiarity with functional safety standards and software development processes such as ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
- Hands-on experience with V-Model, CMMI, or ASPICE process frameworks.
- Software architecture experience using standardized modeling languages such as SysML or UML is preferred.
