Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications for space systems and technologies.
- Architect and implement complex software systems that meet project requirements.
- Write clean, maintainable code following development standards and best practices.
- Use Git and related collaboration tools to manage code changes and participate in code reviews.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues and document configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Mentor and guide other engineers while providing technical leadership and support.
- Apply performance profiling, debugging, secure coding, automated testing, and software design patterns.
- Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and develop effective software solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of the degree, or a master’s degree plus 3 years of experience.
- Typically 5+ years of related experience.
- Expertise in one or more programming languages and advanced understanding of software development principles.
- Ability to design and architect complex software systems.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to mentor and guide other engineers.
- Preferred qualifications include kernel-level programming, Python, C++, Java, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, network protocols, security principles, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, software design patterns, SysML, UML, and static analysis tools.
