Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical designs.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, scalable web services.
- Improve system quality by identifying issues, common patterns, and standard operating procedures.
- Enhance, maintain, and peer-review existing application codebases.
- Collaborate with colleagues, product stakeholders, and customer support to resolve technical issues.
- Investigate and apply relevant new technologies.
- Participate in architecture and code reviews and lead or contribute to additional projects.
- Guide technical direction, mentor less experienced developers, and make independent technical decisions.
- Drive cloud, DevOps, AI modernization, automation, and engineering-toolchain initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience is required; the posting also specifies 3.5 years in Java Enterprise Edition and 5 years in Java full-stack development.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big-data systems.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture skills, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, CI/CD and DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Experience with React is preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- Experience with Pulsar event buses and Snowflake cloud-based big-data solutions is preferred.
- Experience with software security tools and best practices, shell scripting, cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives.
- Strong understanding of LLMs, automation, engineering toolchains, and translating AI innovation into business and productivity impact.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
