Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based test automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend applications.
- Write reusable Java code using object-oriented programming and software engineering best practices.
- Develop automated tests with Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, and Rest Assured.
- Build UI automation using design patterns such as the Page Object Model and validate RESTful APIs.
- Perform backend and database validation using SQL, JDBC, and relational databases.
- Debug application and automation code to identify defects, test failures, and root causes.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.
- Integrate automated tests into pipelines using Jenkins, CloudBees, Bitbucket, and Git.
- Contribute to integration, API, functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and engineering teams through the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience in software development engineering in test, test automation engineering, software development, or a related technical discipline.
- Significant hands-on experience developing Java-based automation solutions and frameworks.
- Strong Core Java programming skills, including object-oriented programming, collections, data structures, algorithms, exception handling, streams, lambda expressions, multithreading, and concurrency.
- Experience testing complex enterprise applications across UI, API, and backend layers.
- Experience with Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Rest Assured, or comparable Java-based automation technologies.
- Strong API testing and automation experience using Rest Assured or similar technologies.
- Experience with Maven or Gradle and dependency management.
- Strong SQL skills and experience validating data against relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, or Snowflake.
- Experience with JDBC or similar database connectivity technologies.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, CloudBees, Bitbucket, and Git.
- Understanding of TDD, BDD, and modern software testing practices.
- Strong debugging, analytical, root-cause analysis, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with AWS or another cloud environment, Docker, Kubernetes, JMeter, Agile and DevOps environments, and regulated financial-services applications.
