Responsibilities
- Act as a technical expert for one or more DTCC applications and ensure designs satisfy functional requirements.
- Design, develop, deploy, test, troubleshoot, and support enterprise applications and software components.
- Lead microservices architecture, domain modeling, API design, service contracts, and integration with legacy platforms.
- Build and support Java, Spring, messaging, database, and web application capabilities.
- Partner with infrastructure teams to select hosting environments and support containerized deployments.
- Tune application performance and design for operability, scalability, resiliency, and health monitoring.
- Define and implement unit, integration, and UI test strategies and automation.
- Drive CI/CD, branching, release, continuous delivery, and engineering efficiency practices.
- Apply secure API practices, authentication and authorization controls, and risk and control processes.
- Mentor engineers, lead technical execution, influence cross-team decisions, and improve team practices.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of hands-on software engineering experience building and supporting large-scale enterprise systems.
- Expert-level Core Java and Java EE development experience with the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
- Experience owning REST API design standards, service contracts, backward compatibility, and end-to-end technical design.
- Experience leading microservices architecture, SOA/MVC/layered patterns, domain modeling, and legacy-platform integration.
- Strong JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, JSON, REST, SOAP, database engineering, SQL/PL/SQL, data modeling, and performance-tuning skills.
- Experience with Oracle or comparable databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and designing for application operability.
- Experience with Git or Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, Jira, CI/CD, and branching and release strategies.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, Selenium, Jasmine, and Karma for test automation.
- Strong messaging and integration experience with MQ and Kafka, including event ordering, idempotency, retries, and schema evolution.
- Experience with Agile delivery, technical leadership, mentoring, secure software delivery, and authentication technologies such as OAuth, JWT, mutual authentication, and basic authentication.
- Preferred experience with AWS, OpenShift, Confluent, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, observability, reliability engineering, dependency scanning, code quality tooling, Python, Node.js, Angular, and React.
- Ability to collaborate with geographically distributed teams and influence technical decisions across multiple squads.
