
Senior Software Engineer

- Design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate secure software and cloud infrastructure.
- Build production software using modern object-oriented languages and service-oriented or microservice architectures.
- Design and consume APIs, including service boundaries, versioning, contracts, backward compatibility, and authentication and authorization patterns.
- Design, optimize, and migrate relational database schemas and support asynchronous, message-driven processing.
- Build and operate containerized services in public cloud environments.
- Deliver automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing through established delivery pipelines.
- Provide production support through logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and live-incident triage.
- Own ambiguous problems through design, implementation, and release while decomposing work and raising engineering standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and non-technical stakeholders and participate in rotating on-call support, including outside regular business hours.
- Mentor engineers or interns and participate in hiring and interview loops when applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline plus 4 years of related experience, or a master’s degree plus 2 years, a Ph.D. plus 1 year, or 12 years of related experience without a degree.
- Professional experience designing, building, and maintaining production software in an object-oriented language such as C#, Java, Kotlin, Go, TypeScript, Python, or C++.
- Strong object-oriented design knowledge, including encapsulation, composition, interface design, SOLID, dependency injection, and design patterns.
- Experience with distributed systems, service boundaries, API versioning, failure handling, HTTP/REST APIs or gRPC/GraphQL, and authentication and authorization.
- Proficiency with relational databases, including schema design, indexing, query tuning, transactions, and managed migrations.
- Experience with queues, topics, or event streams and with public-cloud, containerized workloads.
- Experience with automated testing, Git-based workflows, code review, production support, observability, and incident triage.
- Senior-level ownership, clear written and verbal communication, and experience working in an Agile or iterative delivery model.
- Preferred experience with C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and Docker.
- Preferred familiarity with distributed-system patterns, performance and scalability work, feature flags, progressive delivery, static analysis, dependency and security scanning, legacy modernization, vendor APIs, multi-tenant SaaS, resiliency practices, and relevant transportation, logistics, automotive, or marketplace domains.
