Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop ACH PEP+ vendor COBOL code and support ACH processing.
- Develop customized code, integrate software, analyze requirements, and configure project-specific solutions.
- Lead or participate in development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and production support for highly complex solutions.
- Build automated unit tests, support integration and functional testing, and provide monitoring and warranty support.
- Build and maintain security controls and non-functional monitoring capabilities.
- Lead moderately complex projects and participate in larger initiatives.
- Solve complex technical and operational problems and mentor or support less-experienced teammates.
- Partner with business product owners during design, refine user stories, and deliver software against acceptance criteria.
- Provide knowledge transfer and escalated support to production teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field with five years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and training.
- In-depth knowledge of information systems and the ability to apply IT best practices.
- Significant knowledge of PEP+ internals and ACH processing rules, including PEP+ DB2 and CICS.
- Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, software design, analytical problem-solving, and debugging.
- Professional experience building and scaling enterprise applications or services.
- Understanding of SOA and/or Open API methodologies and service architectures.
- Knowledge of relational database design and development, SQL, stored procedures, and data modeling.
- Experience with build tools such as ChangeMan.
- Accredited ACH Professional certification, a master's degree with ten or more years of experience, and banking or financial services experience are preferred.
