Base Salary

$190k - $280k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain JavaScript SDKs for Node.js, Bun, Deno, Cloudflare Workers, and other modern server and edge runtimes.
  • Plan, implement, test, document, and ship SDK features with end-to-end ownership.
  • Write unit and integration tests and create documentation for internal teams and customers.
  • Use AI tools to improve developer productivity while solving complex engineering problems.
  • Collaborate with TC39, the Node.js core team, the OpenTelemetry SIG, and other open-source communities.
  • Assist the Customer Operations team with critical bugs and engage with users through GitHub and industry conferences.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience as a Software Engineer, web developer, or similar professional.
  • Deep expertise developing web applications, libraries, or SDKs with TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Hands-on Node.js experience and meaningful exposure to Bun, Deno, Cloudflare Workers, or another modern server runtime.
  • Strong understanding of differences among runtimes in module systems, APIs, performance characteristics, and deployment models.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate.
  • Bonus: experience with WinterCG or other runtime interoperability initiatives.
  • Bonus: familiarity with OpenTelemetry instrumentation in server-side or edge environments.
  • Bonus: history of contributing to or maintaining open-source libraries.
  • Bonus: experience engaging with open-source committees or working groups.
