Responsibilities

  • Design, own, and ship secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable software.
  • Drive architectural changes to modernize Word Web and improve application performance and reliability.
  • Coordinate product features spanning teams and geographies, identify dependencies, and drive work to completion.
  • Participate regularly in on-call support and review customer feedback.
  • Collaborate on design and code reviews and help grow team knowledge through knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Ramp up on new technologies and adopt solutions from Microsoft or the open-source community.
  • Debug software and contribute to resilient, scalable applications and user experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Preferred 7+ years of professional experience designing, developing, testing, and shipping software.
  • Proficiency in core programming languages such as C# and C++ and in Windows/macOS desktop application development.
  • Technical aptitude in architecture, design, development, debugging, and testing.
  • Experience with telemetry, data analytics, and service monitoring is preferred, including Kusto, Cosmos, or Geneva Analytics.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud background-check and applicable security-screening requirements.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, ownership, organization, and cross-geography partnership skills.
