Base Salary
$174k - $299k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain the core Workflow Platform Infrastructure.
- Develop scalable, highly available distributed systems and services with strong architecture and design quality.
- Benchmark the platform, collect metrics, and publish performance results.
- Measure and ensure platform reliability and uptime with a 99.995% guarantee.
- Estimate capacity and provision clusters for different customer workloads.
- Implement production monitoring and alerting for the platform.
- Analyze open-source platform components and code and resolve critical system issues.
- Identify root causes, improve operational excellence, and collaborate across teams to make the platform open and extensible.
- Coach and lead software engineers and communicate technical designs and product requirements with technical, business, and end-user stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a closely related field.
- At least 8 years of backend software development experience.
- Experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining highly available, distributed systems.
- Preferred: 10 years working directly within engineering teams in a fast-moving environment.
- Preferred: 10 years developing and operating backend services and web applications.
- Preferred: experience delivering complex, high-performance, highly available distributed software systems.
- Preferred: strong familiarity with Java and Spring Framework and experience in AWS environments.
- Preferred: extensive experience managing mission-critical, high-throughput, low-latency services.
- Preferred: lead-engineer experience coaching and leading high-performing software engineers.
- Preferred: knowledge of Agile software engineering practices and the full software development lifecycle.
- Preferred: demonstrated leadership in cross-functional, highly collaborative environments.
